# How to: Create a new project from scratch

1. Click the project name at the bottom of the sidebar to open the project
   menu.
2. Choose **Create new project**, give it a name, and confirm.
3. Add your first files with the `+` button in the chat composer → **Add
   files**. The project's folder is created the first time something is
   written into it.
