# How to: Delete a project

1. Open the project menu (the project name at the bottom of the sidebar) →
   **Manage project…** → **Danger zone**.
2. Type the project's name exactly to confirm.
3. Click **Delete project**.

This forgets the project in Axon — its chats and search index — and always
leaves your folder and files exactly as they were.

The built-in **Axon User Guide** project can't be deleted — its **Danger
zone** says so instead of offering the button.
