A desktop assistant that answers from the documents already on your disk — with citations you can follow and a record of exactly what each answer rested on. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.
The audit record
Every turn records what was asked, what was answered, and each passage behind it — including the ones retrieved and rejected for not being good enough. Each carries the hash the file had at the time.

One source has been revised since that answer was given. A reviewer following the citation today reads something else — and concludes the answer was wrong.
It tells you when the answer isn’t there
Asked something the documents don’t cover, Axon says so — and shows what it did find, so you can see for yourself that it looked. For work that gets reviewed, a confident wrong answer is the expensive failure.
How It Works
Point it at a folder
Axon indexes the documents you already keep on disk. Nothing is copied, so there is never a second version quietly diverging from the one you edit.
Ask, and get citations
Every answer carries numbered references. Click one and you see the passage, the file, and the page, sheet-and-row or section it came from.
Export the record
A Word, Markdown or JSON audit record of what was asked, what was answered, and every passage behind it.

Built for documents that cannot leave
Runs entirely on your machine
One application, no server and no sidecar. Its models run locally, so there is no API key and nothing leaves the laptop — it works offline, on a plane, and inside a client’s secure facility.
One client at a time
A conversation retrieves from its own project and no other, so one engagement’s documents cannot ground another’s answer. Per-project ignore rules decide what gets indexed at all.
Deliverables, not chat logs
Word and Excel output with tables and figures intact, generated charts, and documents that come out looking like the same product.
Share across the local network
Share a project with a colleague’s machine — read-only unless you grant write access — and keep it in sync. When both run the same models the search index comes with it. Nothing goes over the internet. Sharing is Pro; taking a copy is free.
Scanned pages, too
OCR through a local vision model, badged as OCR in citations so you always know when text was inferred rather than read.
Free for one person
No limits beyond your own hardware, and no sign-up — Axon runs on your machine, so one person using it costs us nothing. Pro ($49 a month) adds sharing a project with a colleague, cloud-drive search and branded exports; a team on one invoice is a licence we quote.
