What is free, exactly?
Axon itself, for one person on their own machine — every format, citations, audit records, web search and every export, with no document or question limit and no account to create. Axon runs locally, so a single user costs us nothing to serve. Three things are Pro: sharing a project, cloud-drive search and branded exports.
Is Pro priced per person?
Yes. $49 a month covers one person, across all their devices. More than one person is an Enterprise agreement, which comes with a per-person team rate.
I work alone — is there any reason to pay?
Three reasons, and you may have none of them yet. You hand a piece of work to someone else to check — Pro shares the project with their computer, and when both run the same models the search index comes with it, so nothing is re-indexed. Your documents live in OneDrive rather than on your disk. Or what you send a client should carry your letterhead. If none of those applies, Free is the honest answer.
What do I get on Pro that I do not get free?
Three things, and the application itself is identical. Sharing a project with other computers on your network and keeping it in sync — read-only unless you grant write access, nothing over the internet, and the computer taking the copy needs no licence. Searching your cloud drives from a chat — OneDrive now, Google Drive and SharePoint once available. And branded exports — your letterhead on Word, PDF, PowerPoint and Excel files. If Pro lapses, those three pause; everything else keeps working.
What happens to my documents?
They stay where they are. Axon indexes the folders you point it at, in place, and answers with a model running on your machine, so nothing leaves it — on any tier.
Can I run Axon inside a client’s secure facility?
Yes. Its models run locally, so it needs no network at all — no API key, no outbound calls, nothing to allowlist.
Is Synapse the same product, hosted?
No. Axon is one person and their own disk. Synapse is a platform your clients use themselves, with a schema per client and its own operational surface.
