1. Introduction

Exaflux ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at exaflux.io and use our services.

2. Information We Collect

Personal Information

When you create an Exaflux account, we collect:

  • Your name and email address, from whichever method you sign in with — Google, Microsoft, or a link sent to your email
  • Which sign-in methods are connected to your account, so you can manage them
  • Sign-in session records, including IP address and browser, so you can sign out of other devices
  • If you subscribe: which plan you are on, a subscription identifier from our payment processor, and its billing status and renewal date. Not your card details — see section 5.

An account is optional. Axon runs on your own machine without one; accounts exist for managing a plan, and the computers connected to it, on Pro and Enterprise. Documents you index in Axon stay on your machine and are never sent to us.

Automatically Collected Information

When you visit our website, we record:

  • The page you asked for, and which site or campaign referred you
  • Your browser and operating system, and whether you are on a phone
  • The country and region your connection is in, and its timezone
  • The organisation or network operator that owns your IP address — for us this is the difference between "somebody in Germany" and "somebody at a company we have spoken to"
  • Whether you clicked through to download Axon, and for which platform

We do not store your IP address. Cloudflare works out the country and network at the edge and we keep only that result. We do not record your city, postal code or coordinates, although they are available to us — country and region answer the question we actually have.

To count people rather than page loads, we derive a short identifier from your connection using a key that changes every day. Today's identifier cannot be matched to yesterday's, so it cannot be used to follow anyone over time, and it is not shared with anybody. These analytics are our own, on our own infrastructure, and set no cookie.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide your account and, on a paid plan, the licence that turns on Pro features in Axon
  • To take payment for a subscription and send you receipts and renewal notices
  • To communicate with you about your account, your plan, and product updates
  • To analyze website traffic and improve our services
  • To comply with legal obligations, including tax and accounting records

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use the following third-party services that may set cookies:

  • Google Tag Manager (GTM) — manages analytics tags
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — tracks website usage and conversion events
  • Cloudflare — provides hosting and may set security cookies

Our own analytics, described in section 2, set no cookies and store nothing on your device — blocking cookies does not affect them, and they keep working if you block Google.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Note that some features may not function properly without cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services, only as necessary to operate our business:

  • Google — sign-in, sending account emails, and analytics (GA4). Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft — sign-in, if you choose it. Subject to Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
  • Cloudflare — website hosting and CDN. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Razorpay — payment processing for paid plans. We send them your name, email address and the amount; they handle the card itself. We receive back a subscription identifier and its status, which we store against your account so we know what you are entitled to. Subject to Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
  • EmailOctopus — the mailing list for product updates and the Synapse launch, only if you ask to be added. We send them the email address you give us. You can unsubscribe from any message. Subject to EmailOctopus's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone not listed here.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove it within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of marketing communications
  • Withdraw consent for data processing

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Card details are handled entirely by Razorpay and never reach our servers — we hold a subscription identifier and its status, not a card number. Sessions are signed cookies over HTTPS, and you can end them on every device from your account page.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
