How to: Check a citation against the source document
- Click a numbered citation — [1], [2] — in the answer.
- The source document opens in the main area with the passage highlighted.
- Read the passage yourself and judge whether it actually says what the answer claims.
The Citations tab of Show sources and retrieval (the columns icon at the top right of the chat) lists every passage the answer was shown.
See Search & citations for why this is the fastest way to trust — or catch — an answer.
